This was awful. I’m all for updating shows but Oklahoma was not the best choice. The modern dance portion was nonsensical. It was very dark with Blair Witch overtones. If you can….just skip it.

We went knowing it was a different interpretation, of this classic musical. Even with this new approach, the actors seem to lack energy, and enthusiasm for this daring reboot of Oklahoma, Opening night jitters? Given the current state of our world, we found it to be too dark and had to bow out at intermission . Good Luck guys. Move the band off stage

Horrible, boring, choppy. Not one actor had a good voice. To see “costumes” like that -I just need to go to my local Walmart. A waste of money and time, we left at Intermission, it was unbearable!!!

Why take a beautiful musical down to such a level. I get the artistic changes but to change the feel good mood that this classic earns to give was missed completely. Dark, gloomy and long. I wanted to get away from world news for an evening and be uplifted, well disappointedly that didn’t happen.

This is a terrible interpretation of a beautiful show. I’m sorry I didn’t leave at intermission. The performers are talented but the sound quality was poor and did not showcase their talents…some things don’t need updating!! Most of the people we talked with after the show were very unhappy.

1.0 star rating CP Carter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Would have given it no stars if I could have. I have seen high school productions that were better. Only two of the actors could actually sing and they were not the leads. Kept wondering when the torture would end.

1.0 star rating Armand Fritsch from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Oh what a disappointment ! Don’t know where to begin - if fractional stars were possible - that’s what it deserves. I’ve seen lots of shows for many years and this is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Many people leaving the show were in agreement. Staging/lighting/sets/sound were all pitiful and very disjointed. The two acts seemed unrelated as if two terrible shows were mushed together. In retrospect I wish I’d done more research on the reimagined nature of this work. Not sure professional reviews would be as honestly critical as this - but people are spending big bucks today for shows & deserve a higher quality product. WARNING - spend your money elsewhere !
